Bridget Jones's Diary
I've finally watched Bridget Jone's Diary after years of procrastination.
    And I love it!
It resembles my favourite classic novel, Pride and Prejudice so much!

The very obvious one is that they both have a Darcy, and both Darcys were played by Colin Firth who I like in the same degree as Chandler Bing. (Don't you think they both look alike?)

Another similiarity is the relationship line between Mark Darcy and Bridget Jones, as well as Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver.

Mark and Bridget did not start on a very good note, with Mark insulting her at Christmas. In P&P, Mr Darcy insulted Elizabeth also and it led to a bad beginning to their acquaintance.

Slowly, Mark began to see Bridget in a more positive light. Similarly, Mr Darcy started falling for Elizabeth but kept silent about it.

And they both helped their ladies of interest at a certain point in time: Darcy helped Elizabeth's sister financially with her marriage, and Mark helped Bridget score an exclusive interview with his client.

At the end of both stories, our leads get together to round up happy endings.

Characterwise, both Darcys give off a very very proud and obnoxious air.

Like Darcy's silent war with Wickham, Mark and Daniel Cleaver also had bad blood between them. Wickham lied to Elizabeth about their history in P&P, making Darcy look like the bad guy when he really isn't. And in BJD, Cleaver lied that Mark slept with his wife when it was really the other way around.

So yes, I enjoyed the movie and am looking out for the second installation.

And I love all the songs used. I fell in love with the soundtrack before I even watched the show! =P

It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces.
